Heading Toward a New World Order: Pluto, Saturn and Ketu in Sagittarius, 2019-2020

(Please note that I only use the sidereal zodiac in my work, so the charts and predictions I share on my blog are based on the sidereal zodiac, Lahiri ayanamsa).

In most of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Pluto and Saturn conjoin Ketu, the Moon’s South Node, in the sign of sidereal Sagittarius. The Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Mercury, and Venus will join this Sagittarius conjunction at various times forming a significant stellium in Sagittarius (three or more planets in one sign). Rahu, the Moon’s North Node, will transit at the same time in sidereal Gemini. Therefore, the harbingers of change known as eclipses (which occur when the lunar nodes line up with the Sun and Moon every six months) will occur in the Sagittarius-Gemini axis beginning in early January 2019; and, this pattern will continue through 2019 and much of 2020.

Some of the general themes of the Sagittarius-Gemini sign axis revolve around cosmic law and right action (dharma); educational institutions, knowledge, and ethics; logic and faith; philosophical ideals and principles; innovative developments in communication, learning, technology, banking, and currencies; the search for freedom and justice; and the polarity between diversity and unity.

This is a quadriwheel chart showing the four Sagittarius eclipses in 2019-2020:         This is a triwheel chart showing the three Gemini eclipses in 2019-2020:

Pluto in Sagittarius represents a cycle of extreme polarization, conflict, and upheaval in all social, political, and economic systems. The most contemporary instances of this transit are:  2/8/2005 to 5/14/2005; 12/6/2005 to 2/24/2020; and, 6/28/2020 to 12/30/2020. Pluto takes 248 years to pass through the whole zodiac, but because of its elliptical orbit, it stays in each sign for different numbers of years (from 11 to 32). The last time that Pluto transited in Sagittarius was from 1757 to 1773, during the French and Indian War, and two years before the beginning of the American Revolutionary War during the period of tumultuous events leading up to it.

Ketu in Sagittarius points to a cycle of sudden events and reversals; moral, ethical, and ideological conflicts; and potential for violent attacks, accidents, and mishaps. In Mundane Astrology, Ketu acts like Mars when afflicted by other malefics like Saturn, Mars, or Pluto, in which case it can symbolize terrorism; assassinations; epidemics; secret intrigues; reform movements; and barriers (as in border walls). Ketu was transiting in Sagittarius during numerous extreme events of the past, including Hiroshima and Nagasaki (8/6/1945); the Kennedy assassination (11/22/1963); the outbreak of the AIDS epidemic (1981); and the 9/11 attacks.

Dates for Ketu’s transit in sidereal Sagittarius and Ragu’s transit in sidereal Gemini are: 3/23/2019 to 9/19/2020 using True Lunar Node calculation; and, 3/6/2019 to 9/23/2020 using Mean Lunar Node calculation. Also note that in the second and third quarters of 2020, Ketu will transit in the Galactic Center in early Sagittarius, and Rahu will transit in the Galactic Anti-Center in early Gemini, which further indicates a time of accelerated evolutionary development, crises, and breakthroughs.

Saturn’s transit in Sagittarius (along with Pluto and Ketu and the eclipses of 2019-2020) suggests powerful tensions and revolutionary changes in areas related to the domain of Sagittarius, including banking; military matters, foreign policy; legal and judiciary matters; publishing and media; the travel industry; higher education; commerce, tariffs and international trade; culture; immigration; religion, and shared ideologies; and perhaps most importantly, justice and liberty. Saturn’s transit in Sagittarius spans from 10/16/2017 to 1/23/2020.

Pluto in conjunction with Saturn is known to be an unstable and difficult placement often associated with conflict, crisis, danger, and the toppling of existing power structures including economic systems. This conjunction occurred during World War I (from 1914 to 1916, in sidereal Gemini); and again it occurred during the beginning of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and its satellite states, and the United States and its allies (from 1946 to 1948, in sidereal Cancer); and the last time it occurred was during the height of the AIDS epidemic which was also a period when there were three significant political assassinations or assassination attempts: Pope John Paul was wounded by a gunman; Anwar el-Sadat was killed by Islamic extremists; and President Reagan was also wounded by a gunman (1981 to 1983, in sidereal Virgo and Libra).

The Pluto-Saturn conjunction has been in place since December 21, 2018, using an effective orb of ten degrees. This conjunction will remain until March 2020 when Saturn separates past Pluto by about five degrees (an effective separating orb). The closest conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in sidereal Sagittarius will be during the whole month of January 2020 (and on January 12, the conjunction will be exact). After that, Pluto will transit in sidereal Capricorn (2/24/2020 to 6/28/2020, 12/30/2020 to 3/5/2039, 8/23/2039 to 1/16/2040), and Saturn will also transit in sidereal Capricorn (1/23/2020 to 4/28/2022), so they will be conjoined again within orb for much of 2020 to 2021. Jupiter will also be in and out of sidereal Sagittarius in April 2019 and again in November 2019, and will be in and out of sidereal Capricorn in 2020.

Saturn and Ketu conjunction is considered a combination for sociopolitical and religious zealotry and extremism. They will be conjunct (using an effective orb of ten degrees) from mid-February 2019 until early December 2019, and will be very closely conjunct from May through September (2019), during which time Saturn will be retrograde, which makes this conjunction even more intense (4/29/19 to 9/18/19).

Pluto and Ketu will be conjunct within about 10 degrees from March until September (2019). This period is considered a chaotic time when the world may experience political upheaval and cathartic or destructive events. Ketu supercharges the aforementioned energy in the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. Further, each one of Pluto, Saturn, and Ketu individually represents transformation, so through synergy, their conjunction creates exponential transformation.

The combined conjunction of all three of Pluto, Saturn, and Ketu in Sagittarius is very rare. After it ends in 2020, it will not happen again until the year 3992! The last time this triple conjunction occurred in Sagittarius was from 11/19/1516 to 8/4/1518, at the beginning of the European (Protestant) Reformation, which began in 1517 and lasted until 1648. The Reformation, as it’s called, was set into motion on October 31,1517 (as one story goes), when Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses or Disputation on the Power of Indulgences on the front door of the Wittenberg Castle church in Wittenberg, Germany.

In these writings, Luther, who was a Catholic priest, heavily criticized the Catholic Church and papacy. Luther’s call for reform was different from previous ones that had occurred, since his criticisms were not only about the corruption in the church but also went to the theological roots of the problem, which had to do with grace, redemption, and the perversion of faith. Luther’s belief was that all Christian people are equal under God, and that they could attain God’s grace and a place in Heaven based on their personal faith, worship, and free-will actions.

The Reformation was a religious schism in the Catholic Church that eventually led to the rise of Protestantism. It set the stage for a great socio-economic and political revolt against the ruling class by the common people seeking economic justice as well as religious freedom. It comprised a significant internal uprising and a series of brutal wars culminating in the Thirty Years War during the Counter-Reformation from 1618 and 1648. In effect, the Reformation ultimately began to transform the Western world by establishing certain democratic ideals that encouraged the rise of capitalism.

The Reformation also fostered the rise of colonialism later on, as many Protestants emigrated from Europe and England in the 1600s and 1700s to escape religious persecution. Luther’s writings additionally had the benefit of inspiring a literacy movement in which ordinary people could now read the New Testament which he translated from the archaic Latin into their own spoken and written language of German, and published thanks to the Gutenberg printing press.

The Reformation was a very turbulent time in history in which families, friends, associates, neighbors, communities, and countries were torn apart over their religious, socio-economic, and political differences. These divisions had been building for some time before the Ninety-five Theses, but their publication marked a significant turning point.

Astrological conditions during the beginning period of the Reformation are very similar to those that exist in 2019-20, specifically in regard to the Pluto-Saturn-Ketu conjunction in Sagittarius. In my opinion, some of the same conditions that were in place during the Reformation reflect the same kind of culture war that’s happening in Western society now. This “war” is a schism marked by extreme polarization among various factions holding very different socio-economic, religious, and political views; morals, ideals, and beliefs; and traditions, philosophies, and values.

I predict that a turning point similar to that which occurred in 1517 is likely to begin this year and/or into the early part of 2020 (beginning by late January 2020). This transformation will likely involve several possible scenarios. First, we could see a complete overhaul of the global economic system that will change the whole world’s geopolitical landscape. What will cause this is some kind of “Black Swan” or X-event probably be brought about by an event involving China, or a shift in the power balance between China and the United States. Second, there may also be some significant changes within the modern Catholic and/or Protestant churches and other well-established worldwide religious organizations.

Third, we will see the beginning of a much larger revolution rising out of the culture war that’s already underway in the West. The revolt has already started actually, in the U.K. and Europe, as with the Brexit movement, and more strikingly perhaps with the Andgilets Jaunes (Yellow Vests), a growing populist grassroots movement for economic justice that began in late November 2018 in France, which has now moved to Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal.

In the U.S., we are also seeing cultural upheaval and ongoing concerns about safety, sovereignty, and security. Two “opposing movies” (to borrow Scott Adams’ term) are incessantly raging among polarized Americans over hot-button topics including uncontrolled immigration; globalism vs nationalism; 1st and 2nd amendment rights; taxation; student loan debt; racism and sexism; LGBTQ issues; abortion rights; religion; international affairs and trade; climate change; vaccinations; health care and health insurance issues; political correctness; truth in media, responsible journalism, and propaganda; and so on.

In U.S. politics, ambitious leaders in the Democratic Congress are now using the shift in cultural ideology to try and expand their power. Much of their rallying cry revolves around their criticisms of the current world order with its widening gulf of wealth inequality. Some of these leaders are offering up plans to pass new tax measures aimed at all the “Billionaire Elite Plutocrats” who control the majority of the world’s resources. Whereas Saturn is the planet of the people and democracy, Pluto represents the hidden powers that rule the world, i.e., the aforementioned “Plutocrats.”

Another view held by many people, mostly among Conservatives, Independents, and Libertarians, is that there is a “Deep State,” a secret shadow government that is part of a global cabal run by institutions and individuals who hold the real power and assert control over the Washington “Swamp” from behind the scenes and in cahoots with establishment politicians on both sides of the aisle. In this “movie,” the “Deep State” controls the mainstream media and subverts the democratic will of the people and the agenda of President Trump’s administration (because he is a renegade outsider to the “Deep State” and the Washington “Swamp”.

Whichever “movie” you are watching, it seems clear that as Saturn (democracy and truth) and Pluto (“Deep State” and “Plutocrats”) conjoin in the sign of truth (Sagittarius), along with Ketu (the Destroyer), the battle between opposing extremes will be intensifying, and perhaps certain truths will be revealed.

Based on the intense eclipses happening in 2019-2020, it is possible that our modern “Ninety-five Theses” moment(s) could involve several different scenarios. Perhaps there will be an act or law signed into order, or a manifesto, dossier, communique, or some other kind of eye-opening information that is revealed through a publication or release of documentation (even such as in a documentary film). It may also include the nationalist revolt against globalism that’s happening worldwide, or could be related to a series of economic and governmental directives enacted in response to some kind of unforeseen global crisis that will change the order of the world as we have come to know it.

Another possibility that I am seriously considering is a “full disclosure” event, which refers to the undeniable truth coming out (Saturn and Ketu in Sagittarius) about the hidden extraterrestrial presence on Earth (Pluto, what is hidden), which has been repeatedly validated by thousands of individuals as well as in government documents. According to the “Deep State” theory, it is the global cabal that already has knowledge of and interaction with this extraterrestrial presence, but is hiding it from the public for nefarious reasons.

When he nailed his Ninety-five Theses on the front door of the Wittenberg Castle church, Martin Luther initiated a process that would ultimately transform European and Western civilization. Based on my astrological analysis and the current state of extreme unrest in our world, it is my strong belief that in 2019-2020, something similar will occur. As with the Ninety-five Theses, whatever is coming will mark a watershed moment that sets the stage for great revolutionary changes that will reverberate in the modern Western world for many decades to come.

Oh God, lead us from the unreal to the Real. Oh God, lead us from darkness to light. Oh God, lead us from death to immortality. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all. Oh Lord God almighty, may there be peace in celestial regions. May there be peace on earth. May the waters be appeasing. May herbs be wholesome, and may trees and plants bring peace to all. May all beneficent beings bring peace to us. May thy Vedic Law propagate peace all through the world. May all things be a source of peace to us. And may thy peace itself, bestow peace on all, and may that peace come to me also.
